Japan · Depends entirely on whether you already have an account
Does Uber Eats work in Japan without a Japanese phone number?
Probably, with an account you already have.
Travellers report that an Uber Eats account opened at home keeps working in Japan on data alone, because ordering and courier chat run inside the app. A new account is different: it still needs a text code at sign-up.
Where this comes from
Multiple traveller write-ups agree. Not confirmed against an Uber Japan policy page.
How sure we are
This rests on consistent reports from travellers and guides, not on anything the company has published.
